Egyptian and Qatari diplomatic delegations have jointly sent out a strong warning not to undertake any effort of forcible displacement of the Palestinian people, thus highlighting the joint stance of both countries amid their important bilateral talks in New York. The talks were held on the margin of the 81st United Nations General Assembly session, where Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. This diplomatic alignment is geared toward realizing a viable peace framework, expediting the unhindered flow of humanitarian supplies into devastated areas, and laying down the groundwork for comprehensive post-conflict reconstruction. Beyond Palestine, the dialogue encompassed broader geopolitical volatility spanning East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. Discussing the ongoing conflict in Sudan, Abdelatty emphasized the necessity of safeguarding Sudanese national institutions, maintaining territorial sovereignty, and backing a political solution that reflects the public’s aspirations. Similar emphasis was placed on dialogue-driven negotiations across Yemen and the Horn of Africa to mitigate escalating tensions.
Addressing regional defense, Egypt’s foreign minister unequivocally condemned recent aggressive actions directed at Gulf nations, firmly stating that Gulf stability constitutes an inseparable pillar of Egypt’s own national security.
Abdelatty further cautioned against political interference with maritime trade, demanding strict adherence to international law to guarantee freedom of navigation. He emphasized that vital straits and global waterways must never serve as instruments of geopolitical pressure or economic intimidation, urging all regional parties to prioritize diplomatic mechanisms over military confrontation to restore collective security.
