Presidents Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt and Xi Jinping of China have formally confirmed the existence of common goals in striving for diplomatic approaches to resolve the increasing number of crises taking place in the Middle Eastern region. The bilateral talks at the summit held at the level of presidents and delegations showed that Cairo and Beijing are increasingly converging politically in terms of stability in the region, global governance, and international security systems.
Both of these leaders have had comprehensive consultations concerning regional matters and the problem of deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Palestine as a whole, and the security environment. The achievements of Cairo in this area have been talked about by the president directly. These achievements have become very important because of the signing of an agreement for a ceasefire and the delivery of aid to the Palestinians. Also the foundations of the state have been laid down.
President Xi commended Egypt’s pivotal regional leadership, highlighting Cairo’s continuous diplomatic mediation aimed at restoring regional calm and facilitating relief operations. The Chinese leadership reiterated Beijing’s consistent support for Arab peace efforts, maintaining that long-term stability in the Middle East requires constructive negotiations, strict respect for state sovereignty, and an immediate rejection of military escalation. Both heads of state underlined their mutual opposition to any actions that risk widening regional conflict or forcibly displacing populations.
Beyond regional political dynamics, the summit featured significant progress in expanding the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Egypt and China. The two leaders witnessed the signing of key bilateral agreements and operational memorandums of understanding across economic and industrial sectors. Notably, President El-Sisi announced the launch of the third expansion phase for the TEDA Suez Canal Economic Zone, opening new opportunities for Chinese investment in renewable energy, automotive manufacturing, textiles, and chemical fibre production.
President Xi confirmed Beijing’s commitment to encouraging Chinese corporate investment in the Egyptian market while leveraging Egypt’s strategic geographic location. Both nations reaffirmed their intention to deepen infrastructure, agricultural, and technological cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, while strengthening coordination within the expanded BRICS bloc to represent Global South interests.
The summit concluded with both delegations agreeing to intensify bilateral consultation across international organizations, framing the Cairo-Beijing partnership as a critical stabilizing force amidst global geopolitical shifts. Cairo News Agency
