Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem said graduates of applied technology schools constitute a key pillar for advancing Egypt’s national industry, stressing that investment in technical education and the preparation of skilled labor are essential to achieving sustainable industrial development and enhancing the country’s competitiveness.
The remarks came during the graduation ceremony of the fifth class of El Sewedy Applied Technology School in Deyerb Negm, Sharqiya Governorate, attended by Minister of Labor Hassan El Raddad, Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber, Sharqiya Governor Hazem El Ashmouni, British Ambassador to Egypt Mark Bryson-Richardson and others.
Hashem said technical education is a top national priority, describing it as the main driver for providing the qualified workforce needed to support industrial growth.
He underlined that skilled and well-trained workers are the cornerstone of any successful production process and that developing competent human capital is one of the fundamental pillars of Egypt’s industrial development strategy.
Congratulating the graduates and their families, the minister praised El Sewedy Applied Technology School as a successful model of technical education, expressing his admiration for the students’ enthusiasm and inspiring achievements.
He voiced confidence that the graduates would serve as distinguished ambassadors for Egyptian technical education in workplaces across Egypt and abroad.
He noted that the government views industry as the engine of comprehensive and sustainable development, adding that graduates of applied technology schools will provide Egypt with a significant competitive advantage in the coming years.He also encouraged young people to take the initiative and actively contribute to the development of the national industrial sector.
Hashem highlighted the pivotal role played by the private sector in supporting and upgrading the technical education system, saying the progress achieved in vocational training reflects effective cooperation among all stakeholders.
He added that the Ministry of Industry is focusing on equipping young professionals with advanced technological skills, including artificial intelligence, alongside management, soft skills and language training.
These efforts, coupled with practical training inside factories, aim to produce highly qualified graduates capable of assuming responsibility and representing Egypt with distinction both domestically and internationally.
The minister stressed that cooperation between state institutions and the private sector seeks to make excellence and competence the standard across the technical education system rather than isolated success stories, noting that Egyptian students possess the talent and potential to compete effectively in local and international labor markets.
Hashem concluded by thanking parents for their continuous support throughout their children’s educational journey, saying cooperation between families, schools and administrators had been a key factor behind the success of the applied technology school model. He expressed confidence that the new graduates would play an important role in supporting the future of Egypt’s industrial sector.
