In an official diplomatic statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, Egypt has affirmed its complete support for Riyadh and offered solid support for all the defensive steps taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Egyptian foreign ministry officials emphasised the strong security connections between the two countries, stating that the security and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia form an inseparable part of Egypt’s national security and indeed the national security of the whole Arab world.
The diplomatic condemnation follows a coordinated barrage of ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles aimed at residential neighbourhoods and commercial zones across four southern Saudi municipalities: Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran. The strikes resulted in injuries to 73 civilians, including women and children, while causing localised fires and operational interruptions at key energy sector facilities in the Kingdom’s southern province.
Cairo forcefully rejected the deliberate targeting of non-combatant populations, civilian assets, and commercial infrastructure, declaring that such hostile acts directly breach international humanitarian law and established norms governing international relations. Egyptian officials warned that unchecked cross-border aggression risks triggering further regional escalation at a time when diplomatic de-escalation is urgently needed across the broader Middle East.
Reiterating its commitment to regional peace, the Egyptian government called for an immediate cessation of hostile acts that endanger regional security and maritime trade routes. Foreign ministry representatives stated that Egypt will continue close consultations with Arab partners and international stakeholders to counter security threats, safeguard sovereign borders, and defend the collective interests of Arab nations against external aggression.
Furthermore, Egyptian defence analysts emphasised that Cairo’s strategic doctrine views any threat against Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) partners as a direct challenge to North African and wider Mediterranean stability. By maintaining a unified stance with Riyadh, Egypt seeks to deter ongoing proxy manoeuvres, uphold the inviolability of sovereign airspace, and prevent external political actors from destabilising crucial energy supply chains.
Egyptian state institutions reaffirmed that Cairo will continue utilising its full diplomatic weight across multilateral forums to advocate for comprehensive political frameworks that end regional hostilities, eliminate non-state armed threats, and guarantee long-term economic development for all Arab populations.
